Why UpTrack

What is uptime monitoring, and why do you need it?

If your website is down and nobody tells you, you lose visitors, sales and trust, often for hours. UpTrack visits your site every few minutes like a real user would, and tells you the moment it is slow or unreachable.

Without monitoring

  • You find out from an angry customer
  • You never know how long the site was down
  • You guess your uptime, you cannot prove it

With UpTrack

  • You see the outage as it starts
  • Every incident is recorded with its duration
  • Real uptime and speed numbers, any time

Features

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Automatic checks

Every 1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes using GET or HEAD requests, with a 10-second timeout and a fast retry after a failure.

Smart incident tracking

A site is marked offline only after 2 failed checks in a row, so one network blip does not create false alarms. Incidents close themselves and record how long the outage lasted.

Uptime & speed analytics

Uptime percentage and response-time charts for the last 24 hours, 7, 30 and 90 days, plus a check history for every monitor.

Private accounts

Sign up with your email. Every user gets their own monitors, incidents, stats and profile, invisible to everyone else.

Light & dark mode

A clean, responsive dashboard that follows your system theme and works on phones, tablets and desktops.

One-command deploy

Zero npm dependencies. Run it with docker compose up and your data is kept in a Docker volume.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What exactly does UpTrack do?

UpTrack acts like a virtual user that visits your websites 24/7. It checks if your site is online and measures how fast it loads. If your site goes down, UpTrack records the exact moment it happened so you can fix it before your customers notice.

Is UpTrack completely free?

Yes, UpTrack is 100% free and open-source. Because it is self-hosted, you simply run it on your own server or even a personal computer. There are no subscriptions, hidden fees, or premium tiers.

Where is my monitoring data stored?

Your data stays completely yours. Unlike other services, UpTrack doesn't require complex database setups. Everything is securely stored in a single JSON file on your own machine, making backups and migrations incredibly simple.

Can I monitor private or internal networks?

By default, UpTrack blocks scanning of internal IPs for security (SSRF protection). However, since you control the server, you can easily enable internal network monitoring by setting a simple environment variable.

How do I get notified if my site goes down?

Currently, outages are immediately tracked and displayed on your live dashboard. We are actively working on the next major update which will introduce instant Email and Telegram alerts directly to your phone.
